It was unclear why these two characters would be cast in a series together. Not only did both of these characters have significant roles in the original, but they also have been at odds since Negan brutally killed Maggie’s husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun). Dead City will be set in the apocalyptic wasteland of Manhattan, an island cut off from the mainland since early in the outbreak.ĭead City will continue the story of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), two main characters from The Walking Dead storyline.
Dead City will be vastly different from the main series in location alone. This new series is in a list of new spinoffs coming in 20, and we will likely see more in the future. The Walking Dead: Dead City is The Walking Dead’s first direct spinoff series of The Walking Dead.
